1. Edinboro Lake

The beautiful 245-acre Edinboro Lake transforms the surrounding area into a bustling resort community during the summer months, attracting residents and visitors from all over. Unsurprisingly, it's the go-to destination for swimmers, paddlers, boaters, and anglers alike. With parks and playgrounds, a lovely swimming beach always well-staffed with lifeguards, two free boat ramps, and kayak and boat rentals, there's no shortage of ways to enjoy the lake! The pier is an excellent spot to hook large and smallmouth bass, walleye, muskie, and panfish, and for the kids, there is an enormous playground complex in Billings Park where they can swing, climb, and slide right on the edge of the lake.

2. Goodell Gardens and Homestead

Stroll along the beautiful winding paths through the spectacular themed gardens spread over 78 magnificent acres in the Goodell Gardens and Homestead at 221 Waterford Street in Edinboro. Linger for a while in the aromatic Welcome Garden filled with fragrant roses and herbs and admire the extensive collection of rhododendrons and azaleas. Marvel at the beauty of the indigenous plants in the Heritage Garden, which includes a hemlock tree, Pennsylvania's state tree, and the mountain laurel, the state flower. You can also go on an informal guided walk to learn more about many facets of horticulture or hike down the trails to observe nature and get to know the native plants, birds, and other wildlife that live here.

3. Doucette House

The elegant Doucette House, an 1861 Italianate-style home at 126 Water Street in Edinboro, was built for Lewis Culbertson and was described as one of the town's finest homes in the 1867 edition of Atlas of Erie County. The home passed through the McClaughry and Reeder families until it was purchased by Aimee Doucette in 1933. In 2001, the family donated the house to the Edinboro Area Historical Society, which maintains the house's first floor as a living area filled with beautiful period pieces. The upper floor is an exhibit space and an extensive library containing genealogy publications, documents on Edinboro's history, diaries, letters, maps, and photographs.
