Trim Levels

The 2022 Ram 2500 is available in a series of trim levels: the Tradesman, Big Horn, Laramie, Power Wagon, and Limited. You'll also have a few body style options to choose from, depending on the trim level: a regular cab with an 8-foot box, a Mega Cab with a 6-foot-4-inch box, or a crew cab with a 6-foot-4-inch or 8-foot box. At the Big Horn level, you'll get heated side mirrors and switch out the standard 17-inch wheels with 18-inch versions. The Laramie has LED fog lights and power-folding mirrors. Choose the Power Wagon for a black-out appearance.

Engine

The new Ram 2500 comes standard with a 6.4-liter HEMI V-8 engine that outputs 410 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque. For diesel power, switch to the 6.7-liter Cummins turbo diesel six-cylinder engine that produces 370 horsepower and 850 pound-feet of torque.

The gasoline engine is paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission, while the diesel engine gets a six-speed automatic transmission.

Performance

The 2022 Ram 2500 can tow up to 20,000 pounds with the Cummins diesel engine. With the HEMI V-8, you'll be able to take on up to 4,010 pounds of payload. Make your towing jobs a breeze by opting for extra tech such as the trailer tire pressure monitor, the 360-degree trailer camera system, and the digital rearview mirror with tow mode that lets you see behind your trailer. You can order your Ram 2500 with factory-installed fifth-wheel/gooseneck hardware. Throw in the available rear air suspension system to make hitching up your trailer easier.

Interior

This year's 2500 has a new air filtration system that maintains a clean atmosphere in your cabin — free of dust, smoke, and aerosols. You'll find 100% leather seating in the Limited and Limited Longhorn. Choose the latter to enjoy a southwestern style that throws back to the truck's heritage. The crew cab's rear seats fold down to give you a flat loading space inside your cabin for the gear you want to keep dry.

The 2500's list of tech includes a standard 5-inch touch screen that turns into an 8.4-inch version with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility at the Big Horn level. For a greater music-listening experience, upgrade your truck with the 17-speaker Harman Kardon sound system.

Safety Features

One of the features worth upgrading for with the 2022 Ram 2500 is the adaptive forward lighting system that provides you with a better vision of where you're turning at night. Prepare yourself for the city with the available forward-collision warning system with active braking and the LaneSense lane-departure warning.
