What powers the 2022 Jeep Compass lineup?
One engine powers the entire Jeep Compass lineup. It is a 2.4-Liter Inline-4 cylinder engine that pumps out 177 horsepower and 172 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission and a front-wheel drivetrain on the Sport and Latitude trims. However, the Latitude LUX and Limited trims come standard with Jeep’s Active Drive 4x4 and a 9-speed automatic transmission. Active Drive is a full-time 4x4 system that combines capability with fuel efficiency. Active Drive uses a single-speed transfer case with a disconnecting rear axle. This automatically shifts into four-wheel drive when more capability is needed and back to front-wheel drive when driving on dry surfaces to provide optimal fuel efficiency. The Trailhawk employs Active Drive Low, which operates similarly but employs a two-speed transfer case providing a low crawl ratio for better off-road capability.

The trim level lineup of the 2022 Jeep Compass spans five trim levels, including Sport, Latitude, all-new Latitude LUX, Trailhawk, and Limited. Some standard exterior features for the whole lineup include LED headlights, upgraded front and rear fascias, 16-inch alloy wheels, power-adjustable/heated side mirrors, and more. Once you step inside, you’ll be greeted by a redesigned center stack with a larger center console with more storage. Interior features at higher trim levels include leather upholstery, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, available heated rear seats, an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, a 7 or 10.25-inch digital driver information display, a 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen, and more.
