Two engines are available for the 2021 Jeep Gladiator. First is a tried and true 3.6L V6 that puts out 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. This engine is rated for a 4,000lbs towing capacity which can be upgraded to 7,650. The available 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 kicks out 260 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque available at just 1,400 RPM. This high torque at low RPMs is sure to please off-road enthusiasts who crave that low-speed crawling control. The gas engine comes with a 6-speed manual transmission, while an 8-speed automatic transmission is a two-pedal option. The diesel engine comes standard with the 8-speed automatic. The Gladiator shines brightest within its class with Jeep's legendary 4x4 system standard across the entire lineup.
2021 Ford Ranger Power & Handling
Only one engine is available for the 2021 Ford Ranger. It is a 2.3L turbocharged I4 that kicks out 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque rated to tow up to 3,500lbs which can be upgraded to 7,500 with the optional tow package. This turbocharged engine is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Unlike the Gladiator, the Ranger comes standard in rear-wheel drive while all-wheel drive is optional. The Ranger can be had with some off-road chops if shoppers opt for the FX2 or FX4 package, which adds standard all-wheel drive, an off-road-tuned suspension, and all-terrain tires.
2021 Jeep Gladiator Features & Design
The Gladiator is built to mirror the image of the iconic Wrangler. It features a removable soft or hardtop, a fold-down windshield, removable doors, trapezoidal fender flares, and a seven-slot grilled surrounded by round headlights. Standard features on the base-level Sport trim include cargo bed lighting, 17-inch steel wheels, Bluetooth, cruise control, a backup camera, a 5-inch infotainment touchscreen, and interior drain plugs for easy wash-out. Higher trim levels feature more like dual-zone automatic climate control, Alpine premium audio, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto integration, a 7 or 8.4-inch touchscreen, heated front seats, 18-inch alloy wheels, keyless entry/push-button start, and LED exterior lighting. The Rubicon and Mojave trim levels turn the off-road capability up to 11 with FOX suspension components, 33-inch all-terrain tires, high-clearance fender flares, an electronic disconnecting sway bar, electronic limited-slip front, and rear differentials, Selec-Terrain Traction Management, and a towering 11 inches of ground clearance.
2021 Ford Ranger Features & Design
The 2021 Ford Ranger can be had in three variants. The base trim comes with a rearview camera, a 3.5-inch touchscreen radio, four speakers, and 16-inch steel wheels. The higher trims offer more attractive features like LED exterior lighting, heated side mirrors, cruise control, keyless entry/push-button start, an 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, dual-zone automatic climate control, and heated front seats. The optional FX2 package adds off-road wheels and tires, an electronic locking rear differential, and an off-road information cluster. FX2 is available on all rear-wheel-drive variants. All-wheel-drive variants can be ordered with FX4, which adds front tow hooks, skid plates, off-road suspension, and a terrain management system.
